At Secure Mail Services our goal always is to set and maintain the highest
standards of security and mail integrity within the industry. Security is
the bedrock of our business proposition to clients. It is intrinsic both to
our business processes, premises, vehicles and depots as well as to the
selection, training and behaviour of every person working for our company.
To achieve this we continually monitor our standards in every key area including
vetting of personnel, unique audit trails, security guards, premises, data
tracking, vehicle security, storage security, security reviews and bespoke
security options. We also maintain regular dialogue with the police to ensure
our security remains proactive and state-of-the-art.
For example, all our staff, including temporary personnel and delivery agents
are subject to vetting procedures approved by the IPS (The Identity and Passport Service)
and the US Embassy. These include a 10-year employment history, proof of identity and
proof of address.
Our sophisticated bespoke tracking system ensures that every item of mail is
uniquely identified and a comprehensive log of every subsequent action
associated with the item is recorded. Plus every time an item is handled or its
details are accessed on our tracking system, full details are electronically
recorded including the identity of the handler, the time and the item's
location.
Security at our premises includes not only 24-hour guards but also restricted
door access and air locks. Our trunking vehicles are non-liveried and conform
to a comprehensive range of security measures. And our security measures can be
changed at a moment's notice in response to ever-changing threats and client
policies.
